The Double Duty Caddy

I created this Caddy for my husband to hold his glasses, telephone, and the remote control.  It is made to fit between the mattress and bedspring.
Turns out, it doubles nicely as a couch caddy.

I made this caddy (I call it the "Daddy Caddy") because my husband has this bad habit of asking me to put his glasses on my bedside table because he doesn't want to move out of his comfy position in bed to put them on his bedside table.  I am hoping this caddy is a game changer, but I am not holding my breath.

Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver)
Recommended Hook Size (I used a G-6 4.25 b/c I crochet loosely)
Needle
Scissors

**Chain 2 (turning chain) counts as a HDC.

Pattern:

Main Body:
*Row 1 - 42 HDC (half double crochet) Chainless Foundation
{{Chain 42 plus 2 more, turn work, ch 2.  HDC into 3rd Ch. from hook and ea. ch. across.  Turn work, Ch.2}}
*Row 2 - Turn work, Ch. 2. HDC in 3rd from hook and each HDC across til end.
*Rows 3 - 88 - Repeat Row 2.  Do not bind off.

*Count to row 68.  Fold row 69 over to create a pocket.  Sc crochet along the side, across the bottom of the pocket and back up the other side.  Bind off.

Large Pocket:  22 rows
*23 HDC Chainless Foundation (ch 23 plus 2, turn work, ch 2, hdc into 3rd from hook).  Leave long enough tail to attach to main body.  Approx. 2.5-3 yards.

Small Pocket:  12 rows
*23 HDC Chainless Foundation (ch 23 plus 2, turn work, ch 2, hdc into 3rd from hook).  Bind off, sew in ends.

Turn pockets perpendicular instead of horizontal and attach to the main body pocket.

Delightful Dish Cloth

I created these super quick and easy cloths for the men in my life; my husband and twin boys.

The cloth is made in multiples of 3's, so you can tailor it to your desired measurements.  This pattern measures approximately 8" x 8".

I used Lily Sugar N Cream cotton yarn and a 5.00mm, H/8 hook.

***HDC is created by - yarn over, go through chain, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on your hook.

Pattern:
Ch. 30
*Row 1 - Half Double Crochet into 3rd Chain from hook and each Ch across.  (27 stitches total)
*Rows 2-20 - Turn work, Ch 2.  HDC into 3rd Ch from hook and each HDC across.

The Suzette Stitch Washcloth

This is my first time making a washcloth.  This is also my first time using the, Suzette Stitch.

The Suzette Stitch consists of using a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch, then skipping a stitch.

It is funny, anytime a pattern calls for skipping a stitch, it makes me feel as if I am crocheting faster.  (I crochet rather slowly).

As well as crocheting slowly, I also crochet somewhat loosely.  In order to attain a tighter stitch, I went down in recommended hook size for this cloth.

Measures approx. 8 x 8.  To change measurements, crochet in multiples of 2.

Materials:
*Cotton Yarn
*G (4.25 mm) Hook or recommended hook size
*Scissors
*Yarn Needle
*Ruler

Pattern:
*Ch. 30
*Row 1 - SC in 2nd Ch. from hook.  Dc in same stitch as Sc.  Skip a stitch.  Sc and Dc into same St.  Repeat this pattern across until last St.  In the last stitch, Sc only.
*Row 2 - Turn work.  Ch. 1.  *Sc and Dc into same stitch. Sk. St.*  Repeat until last stitch.  Sc into the last stitch.
*Rows 3 - 23 or until cloth measures 8" long.  Repeat row 2.  Ch. 1, bind off, sew in ends.
