Suzy's Corner

This is my own little corner of happiness.  Here you may find links to products that I love and use, possibly a string of random thoughts, or maybe even a rant or two?

I love to support local businesses.  Here are links to Etsy sellers that I have purchased from and have enjoyed their products.

Delightful Dish Cloth

I created these super quick and easy cloths for the men in my life; my husband and twin boys.

The cloth is made in multiples of 3's, so you can tailor it to your desired measurements.  This pattern measures approximately 8" x 8".

I used Lily Sugar N Cream cotton yarn and a 5.00mm, H/8 hook.

***HDC is created by - yarn over, go through chain, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on your hook.

Pattern:
Ch. 30
*Row 1 - Half Double Crochet into 3rd Chain from hook and each Ch across.  (27 stitches total)
*Rows 2-20 - Turn work, Ch 2.  HDC into 3rd Ch from hook and each HDC across.

Washcloth/Dishcloth w/How To Video

I receive a number of requests for more dishcloths.  I found this pattern online Here: CrochetnMore.

Materials:
*Cotton Yarn - 1 Ball of Lily Sugar n Cream will give you 2 cloths.
*G (4.25mm) Hook
*Scissors
*Yarn Needle

Measures:  Approx. 8" x 8"

Pattern:
Ch. 40.
*Row 1 - (Dc, Ch 2, Sc) into 4th Ch from hook.  *sk next 3 Ch's, (2Dc, Ch 2, Sc) in next Ch.  Repeat from * across.
*Rows 2-18 - Turn work, Ch 2.  (Dc, Ch 2, Sc) in next Ch 2 space.  (2Dc, Ch 2, Sc) in ea. Ch 2 space across.

Southern Charmed

This little beauty has great texture.  The 'bumps' on it reminded me of some of the historic streets in Charleston, Sc.

Materials:
*Bulky yarn (I used 2 strands of Red Heart w/Love)
*P (11.5mm) Hook
*Scissors
*Yarn Needle
*Button (I used a 1.5" coconut button)

Measures:  Approx. 35" long x 11" wide.  I crochet loosely so your measurements may be different.

Pattern:
*Ch.24
*Row 1 *  2Dc in 3rd Ch. from hook.  Including turning chain, you will have 3Dc.  Skip the next 2 chains.  In the next chain, crochet 1Sc and 2Dc into the same chain.  Repeat this pattern until the last chain.  In the last chain, Sc only.
*Row 2 * Turn work.  Ch.2.  Do 2Dc 3rd Ch. from hook.  (the Sc space from previous round).  Crochet 1Sc and 2Dc into the Sc spaces from the previous round until you reach the last Sc.  Sc only into the previous Sc.
*Rows 3 - 43*  Repeat Row 2.   Ch.1.  Bind off, sew in ends.
*Add Button.

Lofty Loops Long Scarf

To Wear Scarf as Seen in This Photo - Fold Scarf in half.  Place around your neck.  Take the ends of the scarf and pull them through the loop, pulling the ends until the loop is by your neck.  Adjust as needed.

This scarf is my Go To scarf on those super cold and super windy days.  It is chunky and warm and loooooong.  (approximately 89" long).

Materials:
*Chunky Yarn (I used Lion Brand  Wool-Ease Thick & Quick)
*Recommended Hook Size for the yarn. (I used a P 11.5mm Hook)
*Scissors
*Yarn Needle

Pattern:
*144 Sc Chainless Foundation, or Ch.144 plus 1 more Ch.  Sc into 2nd Ch. from hook and each Ch. across.
*Rows 2 - Turn work.  Ch.1, Sc into 2nd from hook and ea. Sc across.
*Rows 3-14 - Repeat Row 2.  At the end of Row 14, Ch.1, Bind off, Sew in ends.
